Five ways to “Own it”

Opportunity

Just like in sports, the player that is in the open often gets the pass that allows them to score the winning goal. Good things happen when you put yourself out there and stay open and receptive to opportunity.

“Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door.” – Kyle Chandler

Work

There is no substitution to hard work. You can buy the appearance of success or maybe get lucky and have a windfall success, but the only way to achieve real success is through hard work. You have to want success more than you want entertainment, or relaxation or sleep. When your work is your “fun” you will capitalize on opportunity.

“I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it” Thomas Jefferson

Never Quit

Be tenacious and persistent with your goals. Winning will require perseverance, and endurance. You will not be successful if you give up. Thomas Edison said, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” After thousands of failed attempts, he was successful in inventing the light bulb.

“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” Babe Ruth

Inspiration

Stay inspired by separating yourself from negative influences. Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you better than you and more successful than you! Know what inspires you and then connect with it daily. Keep your vision on great goals that give your life meaning and purpose.

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”- Zig Ziglar

Time

Time is your most valuable resource, once wasted it can never be recovered. Two things to keep in mind about time: 1. It’s better to invest your time than to spend it. 2. Success takes time so don’t procrastinate get started right now!

The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.“ – Proverb
